This very popular Rotala species is slightly smaller than most other rotundifolias and gets a very nice vivid red coloration with good light and co2. It’s a beautiful high tech species that bushes out amazingly well and is undemanding, which has made it a go to plant for many planted tank enthusiasts It is a little more picky than standard rotundifolia and does seem to prefer CO2. It grows well in a variety of parameters and grows well in moderately low lighting but color is much more muted.
we grow it in medium lighting at around 90 PAR so color is not quite as vibrant as it could be!
