Rotala Blood Red (Singapore)

Rotala Blood Red Singapore is a new version of Blood Red that was introduced to US hobbyists in 2021. Unlike the original, leaves are more slender and this version tends to stay more upright under very high lighting. It’s relatively undemanding and we have some going in our higher energy low tech systems. We wouldn’t recommend if for beginners or people with low lighting. 

There are many fakes and you will find many vendors selling Blood Red that is not real Blood Red. Blood Red Singapore is still very new to the hobby and up until our offering of it here, as never been available except from a few hobbyists across the country.  This will get red much more easily Blood Red from other vendors in the US. If you received Rotala Blood Red from another vendor and had trouble getting good coloration from it, it was probably not real blood red and was not your your fault.
